Yes. Cardiff Chimney Sweeps is NACS and HETAS approved and fully insured with public liability insurance.

Chimney Sweeping
How often should my chimney be swept?
Most chimneys should be swept at least once a year. If you burn wood regularly, more often may be needed — Martyn will advise after looking at your chimney.
Is chimney sweeping messy?
No. Your fireplace is sheeted off and an industrial vacuum is used, so your room is left clean.
Are you OK with dogs in the house?
Absolutely — Martyn is a dog owner himself and pets are always welcome.
Log Burner Installations
Are your installations HETAS approved?
Yes. Every installation is carried out to HETAS standards so it complies with building regulations.
Can you fit a log burner if I don't have a chimney liner?
Yes — a flue liner can be fitted as part of the installation. Martyn will check your chimney and explain what's needed in your quote.
How do I get a quote?
Call, WhatsApp or email with a photo of your fireplace and Martyn will get back to you with a free quote.
Chimney Repairs
What is flaunching?
Flaunching is the cement that holds chimney pots in place and sheds rainwater off the top of the stack. Cracked flaunching lets water in and should be replaced.
Do I need a cowl?
A cowl helps keep rain, birds and debris out of your chimney and can reduce downdraught. Martyn will recommend the right one for your chimney.
Bird Nest Removal
When can bird nests be removed?
Active nests are protected by law, so removal is usually done outside nesting season. Get in touch and Martyn will advise on the best timing.
How do I stop birds nesting again?
A bird guard or cowl on top of the chimney is the best way to keep birds out.
Boiler & Fire Services
How often should my boiler be serviced?
Boilers should be serviced once a year to keep them safe, efficient and within warranty.
Can you sweep my chimney and service my boiler on the same visit?
